Jeff Glovan

Jeffrey Glovan (Jeff) is a fourth-generation Montanan, born and raised in the Mining City. He graduated from Butte High School in 1992, then earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of California – Davis in 1996. Graduating with honors in 1999 from McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California, he began his legal career in California’s capital. Desiring to immerse himself in tax law, Glovan departed for New York University School of Law’s top-rated master’s in taxation program, attaining his LL.M. in Taxation in 2003.

Jeff’s life and legal experiences have taken him far, deep, and wide, bringing a unique perspective to Vicevich Law. With sixteen years of varied corporate/transactional experience, Glovan dedicates his practice to non-litigation matters, having practiced law in Sacramento, CA; Montgomery County, PA (adjacent to Philadelphia); San Antonio, TX; and Helena, MT. He has drafted hundreds of different legal instruments and is fluent in contracts, tax, 501(c)(3)s/nonprofits, trusts, real estate, and all manner of corporate law matters. In addition to Montana’s resplendent beauty, he has enjoyed large city life, living in Chicago and New York City. He is licensed to practice in Montana, California, and Texas.

Being the kind of individual who seeks labyrinthine legal work, Jeff is fluent in tax matters faced by the individual, private sector, governmental, and tax-exempt clients. He has counseled numerous business clients regarding entity selection and structure, and the partnership and corporation tax concerns driving such decisions. Since 2000 he has proudly assisted a motley assortment of non-profit organizations with obtaining and maintaining tax-exempt status. His practice also incorporates sophisticated estate planning, trust and estate administration, and miscellaneous federal and state tax issues. He has represented individuals and businesses embroiled in controversies with the IRS, once saving a client over $20,000 in penalties and interest. Finally, his work has included advising employers on qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, executive compensation agreements, and other employee benefit and ERISA issues.
